David received his Bachelor of Sciences in Sociology and Criminology Certification from the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah. He then received his Master of Social Work from Brigham Young Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.
David has been in healthcare for 25 years, working extensively with adults and pediatrics in both public and private systems of care. He has significant clinical and healthcare organizational leadership experience. Most recently, he has been engaged in strategic initiatives with Population Health, Patient Centered Medical Home and Team Based Care leading to higher rates of quality, lower rates of acute care, and lower cost.
David’s most recent collaborative efforts have been aimed at ameliorating the suicide epidemic in our community through involvement with the National Alliance for Mental Illness, and collaboration with the Utah State Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health. An additional collaborative effort David was recently engaged in was the development of a Substance Use Disorder Care Process Model for Primary Care Clinics.
David specializes in an Integrative Practice Model and is pleased to join the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah’s Community Clinics Behavioral Health Integration Team Based Care model. He enjoys and practices behavioral medicine and enjoys leading people, teams, and organizations. In his free time, David enjoys time with family, friends, cooking, the outdoors, cycling, and motocross.
