  • Kristine Smith, MD, Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah. She is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Rhinologist. Her clinical practice is focused on sinus and nasal diseases including management of acute and chronic sinusitis, polyps, allergy, septal deviation, growths and tumors of the sinuses and skull base, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks. Dr. Smith works with a large multi-disciplinary team that consists of neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, head and neck pathologists, and specialized otolaryngology (ENT) cancer surgeons to ensure the best treatment outcomes. She also works with the Ophthalmology team to support minimally invasive orbital surgeries.

    In addition to her clinical practice, she is actively involved in research focusing on better understanding the causes and treatments of sinus disease, including identifying ways to personalize and optimize medicine. She is interested in finding ways to improve patient care, health care quality and value of care.
