What Are Motility Disorders?

 

Motility disorders are disorders where the gastrointestinal tract has lost its ability to coordinate the muscles that perform common functions, such as swallowing or moving food and waste through the gastrointestinal tract. These muscles are located in the esophagus, stomach, and small intestine.
