Hepatitis C is an infectious disease that affects the liver. Currently it kills thousands of people a year. It doesn't have to. A new report from the the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows a key to preventing deaths from hepatitis C may simply be making sure those with the illness are aware they have it.
