Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI) is pleased to announce this year's official match results for the . The new fellows begin on July 1, 2022 and will receive training through the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry within the Department of Psychiatry.
HMHI's successful academic programs are devoted to comprehensive caregiver education and training the next generation of exceptional physicians. The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry includes over 40 full-time faculty members which provides fellows with diverse learning, mentorship, and research opportunities. Fellows receive a breadth of clinical experience by training at the Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI), Primary Children's Hospital, and affiliated outpatient and residential/partial hospital programs.
We would like to recognize the many faculty and the current fellows who supported recruitment efforts and greatly contributed to filling all of our open match positions. Nationally, 41% of child psychiatry training programs and 24% of child psychiatry fellowship positions went unfilled.
Dustin Blodgett, MD
Dr. Dustin Blodget graduated with his medical degree from St. George's Ï㽶ÊÓƵ School of Medicine. He is currently completing a psychiatry residency at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Kentucky. He is also a military veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force for six years as a Special Forces Combat Medic.
Theodore Brisimitzakis, DO
Dr. Theodore Brisimitzakis received his Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. He is currently completing a general psychiatry residency at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. His pursuit of becoming a child and adolescent psychiatrist was sparked during his medical school psychiatry rotations when he saw firsthand the impact the national shortage of child psychiatrists had on children in his own community.
Olga Lane, MD
graduated medical school at Loma Linda Ï㽶ÊÓƵ School of Medicine and is completing her general psychiatry residency here at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah. Her clinical interests include child and adolescent psychiatry, women's mental health, and trauma.
Eric Monson, MD, PhD
received his MD/PhD from the Carver College of Medicine at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Iowa. He is also completing his general psychiatry residency at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah. His clinical and research interests include child and adolescent psychiatry, psychiatric genetics, mood disorders, and suicidal behavior.
