About the Mountain West Cancer Collaborative

The Mountain West Cancer Collaborative (the Collaborative) is a welcoming network created by Huntsman Cancer Institute’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement. It connects cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and health professionals from Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming.

Collaborative Objectives

  1. Promote knowledge sharing on cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.
  2. Offer opportunities to share best practices and evidence-based guidelines through collaborative meetings, webinars, and newsletters.

The Collaborative convenes ad-hoc groups organized by member-identified topics such as cancer screening, comprehensive cancer control, data and health assessment, community health workers, cancer policy, and clinical trials.

Meet Our Facilitator

Allison Foust, a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) with a master’s degree in health administration from Weber State Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, brings eight years of experience in guiding community leaders through evidence-based public health strategies.

Raised in rural Nevada, Allison understands the unique challenges of rural communities and is dedicated to building healthier communities through meaningful relationships and community strengths. She currently serves as a programs manager in the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement at Huntsman Cancer Institute, focusing on capacity building in the Mountain West.

The Collaborative is open to cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and health professionals working and/or living in Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming, all united by the goal of reducing the cancer burden in these states.

After joining, you'll receive monthly newsletters with cancer-related news and event updates. Educational webinars are held quarterly, and ad-hoc group meetings are scheduled based on member discussions. You can participate as much as your schedule allows, and the Collaborative’s offerings will evolve to meet the needs of its members. This is just the beginning!
