Huntsman Cancer Institute Contributes to Colorectal Cancer Research Studies

Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah has contributed to two research studies involving how microbes living in and on our body play a role in the development of colorectal cancer.

Researchers from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), located in Germany, and the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Trento, located in Italy, both published papers in .

The institutes collaborated with Neli Ulrich, PhD, executive director of the Comprehensive Cancer at HCI to analyze and map how microbes colonizing in the large intestine of colorectal cancer patients are different from those in people who do not have colon cancer by utilizing the ColoCare Consortium.
