In celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride Month in June, Huntsman Cancer Institute will illuminate the Beacon of Hope in rainbow colors this weekend, highlight LGBTQ+ staff and caregivers on social media, and participate in the on Sunday, June 2.

“We are grateful to our community partners—including Equality Utah and the Utah Pride Center—who work to educate, advocate, and advance equality and equity for all Utahns. Today and every day, we are proud to celebrate these values and stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ staff, faculty, and patients,” says , CEO of Huntsman Cancer Institute at the 㽶Ƶ of Utah.

Beginning this weekend, the Beacon will be illuminated in rainbow colors each year during Pride Month as a symbol of Huntsman Cancer Institute’s commitment to advancing hope and healing for all affected by cancer, including our LGBTQ+ patients, friends, families, and community. Every day, we strive to create an environment where everyone who enters Huntsman Cancer Institute feels safe, comfortable, and respected. We are proud to celebrate these values.

The Beacon of Hope is visible each night across the Salt Lake Valley to honor the contributions, humanity, and vision of Jon M. Huntsman and symbolize Huntsman Cancer Institute’s goal to eradicate cancer from the face of the earth.
