has ranked the John A. Moran Eye Center among the nation’s top 10 programs for a third year running.
The ranks Moran at No. 9 nationwide and No. 2 in the West. A social networking website for physicians, Doximity conducts an annual survey to determine rankings used by medical school graduates evaluating high-quality training programs. Moran’s residency has also been ranked among the best in the nation by Ophthalmology Times, which placed the program at No. 6 nationwide in 2019.
“Our program is consistently recognized for providing an exceptionally high-quality education for the next generation of ophthalmologists,” said Moran’s Vice Chair of Education Jeff Pettey, MD. “We couldn’t be more pleased that our peers understand the value of a Moran education.”
Moran selects just four residency applicants from a pool of more than 500 annually. Residents perform more surgeries than the national average and have protected research time. They can also participate in an international humanitarian rotation and customize their education with elective time.
