Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Blood and Marrow Transplant Program receives FACT Accreditation

 

(SALT LAKE CITY)- Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah Hospital's Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Myeloma Program recently renewed its FACT Accreditation. The Blood and Marrow Transplant and Myeloma Program is renowned as the first accredited program in the state of Utah with its first accreditation in 2000.

The BMT program began in 1990 and has continued to grow with services at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Hospital, Primary Children's Medical Center, most recently, Huntsman Cancer Institute. Doctors with all the programs combined perform about 300 transplants per year.

Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah's BMT program is accredited in all seven categories which include: adult autologous and allogeneic transplants, pediatric autologous and allogeneic transplants, marrow and peripheral blood collection, as well as processing. The accreditation lasts for three years and applies to all the services that the program offers.
