Salt Lake City, September 2, 2015 The at the John A. Moran Eye Center at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah has just been ranked tenth in the nation for reputation by Doximity, the leading medical professional network. Half of all U.S. physicians are members of Doximity, and it is the source for rankings used by U.S. News and World Report. The ranking is especially relevant as it is determined solely by votes from peers, reflecting how Moran is viewed by the national ophthalmic community.
"Our ranking is particularly impressive given that we have the fewest number of residents of any program on this list, which includes Johns Hopkins, UCLA Medical Center, and Duke Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Hospital—and, we are the youngest department. For our residency program to get enough votes to rank in the top 10 speaks volumes to how well-trained, successful, and influential our graduates have been," says Randall J Olson, MD, professor and chair, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and CEO of the Moran Eye Center.
"Moran recently called itself ‘The Best Kept Secret in Ophthalmology Education,'" notes residency program director, Jeff Pettey, MD. "We do set the bar extremely high here, and the program is truly one of the most innovative in the country, but the word is just getting out. We could not be more pleased."
