Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group

Do You Have Pulmonary Hypertension? You're Not Alone

If you’ve lived with pulmonary hypertension for many years—or if you’ve just been diagnosed—you probably know that managing your disease can be challenging. It can also be overwhelming.

Ï㽶ÊÓƵ of Utah Health is excited to offer our Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group. This group brings together patients diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension to discuss their experiences, share ideas, and provide emotional support for one another.

Why Should I Join a Support Group?

One of the biggest advantages of joining a support group is realizing you’re not alone and that others have the same health challenges you do. For many people living with pulmonary hypertension, finding this out is a revelation and a huge relief.

Diverse group of middle aged people

Being in a support group can also help you develop new skills and relate to others who are living with pulmonary hypertension.

Many members in the group will also have the same challenges and experiences you have, and members can support each other. Group members can also suggest new ways of dealing and coping with health problems related to pulmonary hypertension, like being tired and short of breath.

What Can I Expect?

When you first join a support group, you may be uncomfortable when it comes time to discuss health issues in front of strangers. However, the fact that everyone else in the group is facing the same type of situation may help you open up and discuss your feelings.

We'll also serve a light lunch at every support group.

Is the Group Confidential?

Yes. Everything that takes place within our support group is completely confidential.
