Our Recovery Clinic Providers

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

The HMHI Recovery Clinic is committed to providing a comprehensive treatment approach that addresses the emotional and physical components of addiction. At the clinic, our specialists will prescribe medications that reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, both of which can negatively impact recovery.

We use the following medications for medication-assisted treatment:

  • Suboxone®
  • Subutex®
  • Zubsolv®
  • Sublocade®
  • Vivitrol®
  • Naltrexone®

All of these medications interact with the parts of the brain that are activated by opioid use. As a result, these medications will reduce cravings and counteract the negative impacts of opioid use so that you don’t experience withdrawal symptoms. These medications are safe when taken as prescribed under the care and management of a medical professional. Your ability to work, go to school, or to care for your loved ones will not be impaired by any of these medications.

You will work closely with our addiction treatment experts to identify which medication is most appropriate for your treatment needs. Initially, the program will include frequent meetings with your provider.

Psychiatric Medication Management

Many individuals discover that their substance abuse stems from trauma or mental health issues that were undiagnosed or untreated. Our clinic professionals will evaluate your need for mental health support and the role psychiatric medications may be able to play in your recovery. The clinician will monitor your response to these medications and assure they are effective in treating your symptoms, Addressing the issues that led to substance abuse will enhance your successful recovery journey.

Group Therapy

Our Recovery Support Group is offered to any clinic patient who wants to process their recovery experience in a safe environment with supportive peers. These groups are led by experienced therapists who use a variety of techniques to teach skills needed for recovery.

Individual Therapy

Some individuals find that they need additional support at various times in recovery. Individual therapy sessions with our expert counselors can be an integral part of your recovery journey. Our counselors can help you address underlying issues that may have led to substance abuse, such as abuse, trauma, and harmful relationships.

Family Role in Recovery

The support of family and friends plays an essential role in recovery. Here are some things families can do to support their loved one.

  • Education: Learn about substance use disorders and the treatment process to better empathize with your loved one during their journey.
  • Support: Ask questions about their treatment, therapy sessions, medications, etc. Offer gentle reminders about scheduled appointments and the importance of attending them all.
  • Stay optimistic: Keep in mind that the recovery process is a journey. Recovery takes time and there may be challenges to face along the way. Remind loved ones of this at times when they are feeling discouraged.
  • Celebrate successes: Celebrate achievements -- no matter how big or small -- to boost your loved one's confidence.
  • Practice self-care: Supporting a loved one through recovery can also take a toll on your mental health. Make sure you don't neglect to take some time out for yourself at this time too.
